Here's one I've been fussing over for some months now.............

"Hard To Imagine"
by Tom Tognaci
(c)2007

(V)

T’was under a clear sky                                                   ]

When I first caught wind of your name

And there was something in your eyes
Oh Lord, it looked like rain

I recall that first kiss
And the taste of falling tears
But little did I know it then
That storm would last for years

(BR)
I remember when we first met
I played along, until I felt
The thunder...............
You blew in like a summer’s rain
I played along until there came
The thunder...........
The wonder..............

(CH)
Well, it’s hard to imagine
A lifetime without you
Yes, it’s hard to imagine
A world without you
And when I think of our love
And the music that we’ve made
It’s just hard to imagine
A prettier duet played

(BR)
Sixteen years and going strong
We made a lot of love
And, still our song
Plays sweetly.........
Completely............

Yes, it’s hard to imagine!

~Instrumental~

(v)

Now, I couldn’t tell you
Where I was when Elvis died,

Who’s won the Super Bowl,
Or if Britney’s still a bride
cause the things that matter
To this weathered country man
Are the things that memory’s
Tend to prop up strong to stand

(BR)
Like...
I remember when we first met
I played along until I felt
The thunder............
You rolled in like a summer’s rain
I played along until there came
The thunder......
The wonder......

(CH)
Yes! It’s hard to imagine

A lifetime without you
It’s so hard to imagine
A world without you
And on that day I meet my God
I’ll tell Him straight and true
It’s just hard to imagine
A heaven without you

(BR)
Sixteen years and going strong
We made a lot of love
And, still our song
Plays sweetly.........
Completely............

It’s just hard to imagine!!

T’was under a clear sky
When a wind whispered your name

This is really cool, Tom!  I'm gonna have to hear it!  The opening line seemed oddly worded, but I'll bet it sounds great sung!  Look who is talking about odd....LOL

And thanks Brenda for the kind words....................the opening line was written that way to keep the meter in check...........I think? it sings well with the music, though

You hooked me in on the first verse, looking forward to hearing it. Don't know what was bothering you to keep fussing with it, but it looks like it's gone. Very cool Tom
