Just another exercise in absurdity lol... :Guitarman1:

https://www.soundclick.com/music/songInfo.cfm?songID=14313654

I got the wind in my hair, Ain't nothin' better than this
Smilin' like I don't care, And I know who my daddy is

Got my belt 'round my waist, My eyes are blue as the sky
My heritage is fact based, My Mama never had to lie

So, go ahead and hate me, My privilege won't forsake me
Yeah' go ahead and hate me berate me
I love the skin I'm in

I can say what I please, Got the numbers on my side
My future's guaranteed, And my pride is world wide

Being me is so special, There's no question I'm free
I'm the color of potential, And nobody had to teach me

So, go ahead and hate me

You've got the color part, but it needs to start with a chorus to meet the challenge. You might need to write another one!

Cool! Here is the entry from Mike and myself based on his idea and lyric.

She's over the hill at 30? Damn! On second thought, that's probably right for strip clubs. It's been a while since I've been to one.

I liked the vibe of your song, RDM. It has kind of a spacy, jazzy feel to it. The way the horns interact with the vocals is laid back and mellow — an interesting juxtaposition to the lyrics about a stripper, and from I remember, strip clubs tend to be loud and disco-y. It kind of reminds me of some of Steely Dan's music — especially on their Asia album. The composition is good and has a very professional sounding arrangement. All you need is for Larry Carlton to add a guitar solo and you might have something!

I have been reading over all the commentary and laughing and smiling.

Looks like we may need another challenge soon.

Anyone up for another next month?

The title - yeah, I didn't realise you'd already done something with that name. Not about a tanning saloon though!!:)

Hey Chris,
over here in the States they're call Tanning Salons, not saloons! But I have to admit, tanning saloon sounds like a way more interesting place to be. Do they serve adult
beverages there?🍻🍺

If that's one of your own then it's a great play on words. Dom, I'm fairly sure they're called salons here too...it just sounded good! I don't know about adult beverages but I strongly suspect some adult activity at the one up the road from us. It looks a bit rough!! :bigsmile

I wanted to swing by and apologize for not living up to my end of the challenge. I had some lyrics together, wound up going on vacation, and then wound up losing a long time family friend to cancer, then had another family emergency pop up. Sorry everyone!

Real life is always more important. Sounds like a difficult time for you, hope you are ok.

We're already talking about the next one, so hopefully you can join in then.

Sorry for your loss. Hope all is settling down and you are ok.

Maybe next month you will be open to joining in the next challenge :)
