Sultry southern nights, homemade wine and voodoo
Hunters moon shines bright, burning on the bayou
Feel the rhythm in the heat
The smokin' smell of honey mesquite
Gator skins on my feet
Dancing to that zydeco beat
Cajun lady smiling sweet
Hot barefoot Creole treat
Sultry southern nights, homemade wine and voodoo
Hunters moon shines bright, burning on the bayou
Bonfire licking cool black water
Oh, the spells the swamp has taught her
No lawman dares to bother
When music echoes cross the holler
Quiet whispers in the quarter
Don't offend the priestess' daughter
Sultry southern nights, homemade wine and voodoo
Hunters moon shines bright, burning on the bayouLast edited on Mon Dec 21st, 2020 10:16 am by JAPOV

"Sultry Southern Nights." Nice alliteration with the SSSS sounds here. Sounds like nature
"Bonfire licking cool black water." Very nice imagery here. I really like this line.
Be careful in the second verse. Some individuals may be offended with the voodoo stereotypes.
Also, I could see this working as a song for Mardi Graw. Or you could even just reference it. Last edited on Tue Dec 29th, 2020 03:49 am by Taylorm260

This is nice. It even reads with a sultry feel. I want to hear it!

I agree with Andrea- I really do want to hear it to music!
If I had ANY critic it would be I wish it were longer
Made me think of STYX for some reason?
Would love to hear it to music for sure!
