Sort of in the spirit of Boot Scootin' Boogie I guess?
Honky-Tonk Time
Copyright BRD © 2020
V1
It’s Friday afternoon, I just clocked out of work and I put on my faded blue jeans.
I’m all gussied up for music and girls and everything in between.
I’m headed off to those neon lights for country sounds and swinging doors.
I’m ready to stamp my bootprints in some sawdust on the floor.
CHORUS
And we’ll have a honky tonk time.
The boys will tell old stories, and the girls dance in line.
Gonna wear Stetson hats and some cowboy boots
drink beer and homemade wine
We’re gonna party down ‘til the sun comes up and have ourselves a honky tonk time.
V2
It’s Friday night, I just got to the club. My dancing boots just hit the ground.
Even if Mr. Dwight Yoakum was here, I’d have the best tush-push in town.
I’ve crushed eight beers and I’m standing by this little girl that’s looking fine.
I’ll see if she wants to come home with me and have ourselves a honky tonk time.
C
And we’ll have a honky tonk time.
I can tell some stories, that little girl will get in line.
She’ll wear a Stetson hat, I’ll wear my cowboy boots.
I’ll drink beer, she’ll drink homemade wine;
We’re gonna party down ‘til the sun comes up and have ourselves a honky tonk time.
V3
It’s Saturday morning and I just woke up. That little girl's lying next to me.
She don’t look quite as good right now as she did at a quarter to three.
I’ll wake her up and then I’ll get her dressed, then we’ll have to say our goodbyes.
I need to get rested up for tonight to have another honky tonk time.
C
And we’ll have a honky tonk time.
The boys will tell old stories, and the girls dance in line.
We’re gonna wear Stetson hats and some cowboy boots
drink beer and homemade wine
We’re gonna party down ‘til the sun comes up and have ourselves a honky tonk time.Last edited on Mon Dec 14th, 2020 12:28 am by BRD

This is a portion of American life encapsulated in amber, like those prehistoric bugs. An artifact preserving country life. I appreciate the details that bring the environs to life in my imagination. Some cultural lingo i'll have to look up to get their meaning for my edification.Very authentic sort of work. I like it to get nastier, seedier, but this is probably wisely constrained by propriety. I think this is tight. Cheers.

Nice title and the picture paints itself. Not much more you can ask for.

Consider moonshine as opposed to wine if the melody allows. Seems more country to me.
"She don’t look quite as good right now as she did at a quarter to three." Lol. Nice realism.
Some listeners may not be a huge fan of the "hit it and quit it" implications.
