What Good is Love
Music: Jay David, lyrics: Charles Anderson, vocals: Louisa Rowley

A1:
What good is love
When you have lost your heart
What good is love
When you are torn apart
I had my chances
And my restarts
But my romances
Have lost their spark

A2:
What good is love
When he has gone away
What good is love
When you’re his yesterday
I had my lovers
And my dismays
But my recovers
Have left their mark

Bridge:
What love is grand when it no longer sings
You’ll understand when you’ve lost everything
I have excuses, I have regrets, but my no-uses have left their debts

A3:
What good is love
When all you do is cry
When help from above
Has only passed you by
I have my sorrows
And my goodbyes
But my tomorrows
Have left my eyes

A1:
What good is love
When you have lost your heart
What good is love
When you are torn apart
I had my chances
And my restarts
But my romances
Are my demise

Coda:
I have my sorrows
I have goodbyes
But my tomorrows
Have left my eyes

Thanks, John and RainbowKeeper. Without a beautiful voice like AnonymousLou’s I woulda been stuck with a half done song and a hope.

Good rendition of a fine song. I can hear Billie Holiday singing this in my head...

Very nice. I really like the way this is sung. Great job.
Will there be music too?

Billie Holiday... Exactly! Lou reminds me so much of Billie that I was over-the-moon when she said yes. Hopefully I can get her to do another song for me...

Thank you, Andrea. Lou really makes it sing! On the original the composer sang it while playing the piano. But I wrote it for a songstress and Lou woulda had to somehow delete his voice on the mp3 while saving the piano music. I don’t know if that’s possible. Another option was for Lou to take a few weeks to learn it on the ukulele, but I didn’t want to burden her with that task. Although Jay, the composer, has a good voice, he sang it slightly jazzy. I don’t think he was really sold on his own rendition. But Lou...
