She’s Got Bounce

Verse 1:
The grass and trees, clouds and breeze flow with her every move
Her eyes light up sun and skies unlike seen before
Her face’s engraved on my brain like a precise tattoo
All the world’s crystal clear showing me the score

Pre-chorus:
Bright light is all around, the air is full of sound
Suddenly I realize she soars past profound

Chorus:
She’s got bounce —every move she makes is flowing with emotion
She’s got bounce — she makes me feel like I’ve been chosen
She’s got bounce —oh, how my heart’s pounding with devotion
She’s got bounce in every ounce, ‘speshly where love counts

Verse 2:
Her laugh, her smile, her loving style, shows her rainbow hues
Her hair’s aglow, tell ya bro, who could ask for more
She spurs my soul from its blues, makes every day good news
She gives love its pop with energy galore

Chorus:
She’s got bounce —every move she makes is flowing with emotion
She’s got bounce — she makes me feel like I’ve been chosen
She’s got bounce —oh, how my heart’s pounding with devotion
She’s got bounce in every ounce, ‘speshly where love counts

Bridge:
And I find that I’m just prattle, she’s real beyond my razzle-dazzle
She is so adored and I’m just drab decor
Pick up my tricks and shuffle for the door
...Wow

Chorus:
She’s got bounce —every move she makes is flowing with emotion
She’s got bounce — she makes me feel like I’ve been chosen
She’s got bounce —oh, how my heart’s pounding with devotion
She’s got bounce in every ounce, ‘speshly where love counts

Coda:
She’s got bounce in great amounts
She clears up all my doubts
Oh, if I could just espouse... whoa
She’s got bounce, she’s got bounce, she’s got bounce

Charles, I see this one as more pop. Chorus line 2 I don’t care for. I am thinking use commotion as the rhyme. And she’s always causing a commotion? Something along those lines? Not feeling the bridge. I think a change there would help also.

I like it. Reminds me of the Carpenters “close to You”. So I too think it’s pop

V1 line 2 seems wrong grammatically but if it sings right leave it like it is. Might be what the song is tempered for. That line I mesn

Yea, Mike... it could be pop. Much of genre depends on the music.

Chorus, line 2, goes well with lines one and two of verse 1, and line one of the pre-chorus. It’s my favorite line!

The bridge explains the extreme contrast and self-reflecting humility of the singer. This is the Maid of Heaven he’s singing about here! He’s the expression of nothingness compared to her. Marriage is impossible...

I like the upbeat feel. I can hear the pop sound too. I am not sure the Maid of Heaven is evident in the bridge. Maybe I am missing something?

Hi, Andrea... Perhaps I got you confused with the Maid of Heaven-thing. The bridge refers to the sad state of the singer in comparison to Her. The rest has to do with the Maid. She’s a combination of the many positive traits of people, mostly women, I’ve met over the years. Too perfect to be anyone is this world. That’s why I call her the Maid of Heaven. One would only wish to snag someone like her...

Hi, MAS... Yea, it could be pop if the music fits. “Close To You” would be a good comparison —an almost angelic person. Sometimes lyrics are hard to place in a genre. They’re so dependent on the music.

V1, line 2 seems okay to me. I can be a scofflaw sometimes when I write lyrics, being more concerned with how it sings rather than grammar. Just don’t take me to court... Haha!

"She's got bounce" works. The song feels full of energy, and fairly light-hearted and that works too.

Just repeating things here really:
V1 L2 is confusing
Chorus L2 feels a bit too comedic
Chorus L4 comes across as crass to me, maybe ‘speshly where it counts

But overall there's a lot there to like, with just a few minor points, and as always, those are your choices to make.

Thanks, RD Man for your review and suggestions.

V1, L2 is confusing. Alight is the wrong word. I mean light up.

Chorus, L2: that’s the second comment about it. I’ll change it.

Chorus, L4: I originally had ‘it’ instead of ‘love’ but I didn’t want the listener’s mind to wander, since love is the focus and ‘it’ is subject to interpretation. Whether it’s crass or not is subjective.

Always appreciate your reviews.

Wow! Even though Keith Urban is one of your favorite artists (one of mine, too) I still wasn't expecting this. It's a fun, feel-good song that would fit perfectly on a Countty radio today. It could even be a #1 hit for Keith, Luke Bryan or Florida Georgia Line. Way to go! :)

Heck, JD... Another #1! If only I could get one of these dudes to produce it. If only... Thanks for your review and positive comments.
