Hey, TSF, I am back with a new original song- this is a song titled haunting blues and is describing when a negative feeling that has previously plagued you that you thought you were free of comes back to bite you.
Link to the youtube video is here for anyone interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTiRTeVH0Ag
Do consider subscribing; below are the lyrics, let me know what you think!

Life is what it is,
it's not ever perfect,
those feelings you thought had gone,
they come back and they hurt,
can't lose the
haunting blues.

You could not ever
understand the fear,
an iron hand gripping my heart
that you thought would never return,
can't lose the
haunting blues.

'Cos they still coming back,
year after year,
the haunting blues.

What a cruel trick
to let me think
I could be alone and happy,
but I could never be free,
can't lose the
haunting blues.

My heart is racing,
my hands are shaking,
please just bash my head in,
these blues will be the death of me,
can't lose the inevitable
haunting blues.

'Cos they still coming back,
year after year,
the haunting blues.

An uncomfortable familiarity
will haunt me to my grave,
I'm not free I never was
but beggars can't be choosers,
can't lose the
haunting blues.

'Cos they still coming back,
year after year,
the haunting blues.

Hey Lou,
Check out RDM's "Should'a Listen To Mama... I think you'd be great for that! :)

Got a strong blues vibe going!

You might look at some variation in there. A break in the middle maybe. Feels like the ear needs a change before slipping back into the pattern.

Hey, Lou... I love the sound of your voice! You could sing about anything and I’d love it! Lyrics need a little work, but who cares...

Another good one, Lou. Really dig your voice.
I bet you could do some heavenly vocal harmonies.
Would love to hear what you could do in a studio.

Same- although I am starting music school in September (fingers crossed) and have been told that they encourage collaboration with other students so who knows!

Yes, I do like to encourage the bluesyness to come through- perhaps it's just my generation!
And thanks so much for the feedback, I may not post a new video of it but would like to make some changes at some point so will have a play around with the fingering and see what I can do!

Hey guys, based on all your feedback on the strumming I've decided to vary the strumming a bit in the song (only a small change so if you think it needs a bigger change, let me know!).
For every two line refrain:
cos they still coming back
year after year

the strumming pattern will change from 2nd string, 4th, string, 1st string, 3rd string to 2nd string, 3rd string, 4th string, 3rd string before resuming back to the original strumming pattern for the line 'haunting blues'.

Let me know what you think!

I like the change in picking pattern. It's subtle, but it does add to it. It's a clever idea to modify the picking to add variety rather than some more drastic change to melody.
If you want to push it further you could even experiment with switching from picking to strumming and back.
