I dear friend of ours died of Alzheimer’s. Her husband stopped by last summer and relayed to us her decline before she died. I love her. CMA

Now She Pushes Chairs
____________Verse/Chorus

Verse 1:
You should see her gorgeous soul
You should hear her voice in song
How can someone be so whole
How can her love be so strong

Chorus 1:
Her life is so vibrant, her love’s everywhere
Purple eyes sparkle, whitish-blonde hair
She loves her life, a complete delight
Pushing her pupils into the light
Then it all went south, she’s so unaware
With memories gone, now she pushes chairs

Verse 2:
Have you seen a person fall
Have you seen one lose so much
How can she have no recall
How can her life lose its clutch

Chorus 2:
Her life was so vibrant, love was everywhere
Purple eyes sparkled, whitish-blonde hair
She loved her life, a complete delight
Pushing her pupils into the light
But it all went south, she’s so unaware
With memories gone, now she pushes chairs

Bridge:
Her husband holds her tenderly
But her eyes no longer see
Tells her of the love they once shared
But he know she’s no longer there

Chorus 2:
Her life was so vibrant, love was everywhere
Purple eyes sparkled, whitish-blonde hair
She loved her life, a complete delight
Pushing her pupils into the light
But it all went south, she’s so unaware
With memories gone, now she pushes chairs

Post Chorus:
Now she pushes chairs
Now she... pushes chairs

You paint a wonderful picture of her here.

Alzheimer's is such a cruel disease, robbing people of their lives before their death.

The "pushes chairs" image is heart-breaking.

Reading the lyric, it feels like you've got the labels for verse & chorus round the wrong way. The parts you've marked as the verse feel like they should be really sung out on, whilst the longer descriptive parts might be a bit more subdued focusing on the vocals and the story.

An intense song.

Hey RD Man... It’s a terribly sad story. She, at the end of her life, actually spend her days pushing chairs. I was heart broken when I heard this. I loved her like a sister since the first day I met her.

Yea the verses and chorus could be flipped-flopped. It’s a composer/singer dilemma. There are songs with short verses and a long descriptive chorus. But, whatever... Glad you like it!

Charles
