Yes, there are a lot not nice, selfish people in the world but there are also a lot more unsung hero's like that man at the store who are just your average folk, that when you interact with them, they seem to make it all worthwhile. That's what it's all about.

Sketch, from what you said about being in harms way when you do work I'm guess you're in some kind of repair service job?

Japov, I didn't know you were Polish too!!

Take care, both of you and stay safe.

I work as a delivery driver. This has been very interesting.
In many cases I knock on a locked door to get the attention of
someone inside and hold up the package so they can see it.
Then I set it down where it will be easy for them to reach
when they open the door. Then I walk away and wait to make
sure they have it. We exchange pleasantries from a distance.

I was using a paper towel to handle door handles earlier when
I could actually get into buildings. And washing my hands often.
Which I was used to doing anyway.

@moptop
Lol, I'm Sicilian and Cherokee from Birmingham, Alabama... but all American :)

I recently retired in a small N Alabama town, so far we haven't had it bad at all... more of an inconvenience really. Everything is shut down and the grocery shelves are mostly empty but hey, social distancing definitely seems to be working here... Tonight, I bought pizza for the local Police Department... They were very appreciative :)

@JAPOV,

Me too! Sicilian and Polish living in the middle of Missouri! Retired, lucky you. I'm just a few years away myself and was was hoping with the hopping economy we were having that I might be able to get a head start on it and do it within the next year but then this happened. Now with being forced to stay home it looks like any chances of the happening now are have gone up in smoke. Although this is very much like retirement this is not the way I wanted to do it.

Lol... even the Indians came from somewhere :)

Trump is right, in another 4 months things are going to go right back to normal. However, I believe the "status quo" is actually our biggest problem. Think for a moment just how small the world has become because of "word trade" and economics... We're all so busy spinning like gears in a worldwide machine for the sake of "economic growth and prosperity" that we don't seem to fully realize... ALL IT TOOK WAS A VIRUS TO SHUT THE WHOLE WORLD DOWN! Hindsight is always 20/20... but greed is blind.

Yup. Staying safe and well.
But this thing just keeps dragging on. It's so maddening.

We have a text message that everyone in my office is on the distribution list.
The boss texted us all to ask how we were. One of the other guys came on and was sharing he had been doing. I felt like kind of a bum when I heard all that he was accomplishing. But then I remembered that I had written a song about the pandemic. Someone might think that was a big deal. Who knows. So I shared the song and the same guy got back to me right away saying he thought people needed to hear this song.

So I got back to and said my music is free to listen, share and download. And BTW I am nearly at 2000 listens on my SoundCloud page. If everyone on this distribution list listens to 3 songs I will be over 2000 listens for my page.

A few people jumped in and I saw some movement in listens on my page. Then the boss saw what I was doing and rallied the troops. Then I saw the listens really start pouring in. But we were still a long way from goal so he got after everyone again and I saw some significant movement on listens.

By then we were up to 1970 with the goal of 2000 listens. So we still needed 30 listens. Seemed achievable but we seemed to be about tapped out. The boss rallied the troops once more and suddenly we were at 1995. Just five away from 2000. I  came back on to encourage them that we were almost there.

A half hour later we were at 1999. I came on to report the number and request one last listen to break the 2000 listens mark. Minutes later we had it. Hooray!

It was a fun team project that gave us a goal to achieve as a team even though we weren't at work. Today I checked my page and I had zero listens for the last 24 hours. - lol

Hey moptop,

Have you been getting a lot of plays on your Two Plaid Blankets song over the last week on SoundCloud?

I was promoting my new pandemic song and the next play rolls over to my favorites list and Two Plaid Blankets is at the top of the list. I hope you got 50 or more listens. - lol

Sketch, well let me go take a look.........Well it says I have 68 total plays, 11 of those since April 7th. That's strange that it would go to that song since it's 29th from the top. Did you "like" me on that song? That might be why. Well thanks for letting me know. I'll keep an eye on it to see what it does. Good luck on your song too. I take it that's the one your co-worker was plugging for you?

Yes, that's it. Your song was at the top of my like list.
So when I promoted a song the next one up would be the top of my favorites list.
I wasn't liking any of my own songs, so as not to skew the numbers.
But it seems smarter to get my own songs up next to get more listens.
So I have made that adjustment. But was happy to send you some listens for a while.

And the new song has done well. I have promoted it a bit through the office
and also through church. It has out-performed the previous two combined for listens.
Currently at 75 plays, which is better than average even for songs that have been
up for a year or two. And this has been less than two weeks.

I'm glad you figured it out.

And I do appreciate the "like" on the song but I'm just surprised that you liked that particular one! It is a cute little tune but I don't consider it one of my best ones.

...and I am chuckling a bit as I type this!!!

I think I reviewed that song and probably talked myself into it. - lol
Thought it had a great hook, theme, and well-written lyrics.
Did you replace the avatar image? (since it was reviewed) It looked new to me.

Avatar, no I haven't changed it. The two blankets in a heart shapes was what was originally used. Why, did somebody hijack my avatar?
