Hey guys,
Found this pice today in my writing box.
Feel free to comment and to give feedback.
Ty!

RIVER'S ORANGE I

Stony maidens cry their tears
From that water you are born
You found your path mile by mile
you see so much on your way
Standing here. You pass me by
Watching you from the save shore
Waiting here day and night time
You invite my soul to pray

I'm right here, where you unite
With the one that named myself
Named my people, our land
Water unites deep and wild
By the landmark I'm waiting
Want to flow away with you
All by myself, quiet, free
Pulse gets lower, thoughts get mild

River's orange
Suddenly I understand the river's words
River's orange
Suddenly I hum the sound you mumble
River's orange
Suddenly I understand the river's words
River's Orange
Here something touched my soul
'Cause the water washes away anything that hurts

And one time in the still of the night
While I'm waiting here
I may sense the answer
I may get an idea
And one time in the still of the night
While I'm waiting here
I may sense the answer
An image that is almost clear
River's waves and water will wash away my fear

Stony maidens cry their tears
From that water you are born
Nothing can stop you flowing
There is still so much to see
Flowing up north, there's no doubt
A part of me will follow
But what happens at your end?
Or will you dry out like me...

I don't understand "Rivers orange" or many of the references here, but I do find many of the lines quite poetic.

"Stony maidens cry their tears
From that water you are born"
that's just a lovely image, as are most that are directly describing the river and your feelings towards it.

"Or will you dry out like me..."
Such a lot said in just one line, and you finish here too!

Ty rainydayman,

U are right I may should have given more information about this. But I wanted to find out if someone would figure it out. Maybe this one is to special. Here is some Wikipedia info (u can read the whole article in English there and see some pictures of it):
Rheinorange (Rhine Orange) is a sculpture erected in 1992 in Duisburg-Neuenkamp, Germany. It is located at the point where the Ruhr flows into the Rhine at 'Rheinkilometer 780', i.e. 780 km from the source of the Rhine. It was constructed from steel by the sculptor Lutz Fritsch from Köln.

At my first visit there I felt...at home. After my second visit I had to write this little piece.
I love this place. And yeah the area I live in is called Ruhrgebiet/Ruhr-Area and we as ppl are called Ruhrpottler. That may explain the: you name me and my Land part.
Stony maidens...well I put it that way because I made some research and found out that the river Rhein has its sources in the Alps in Switzerland, in an area of „newer area“ mountains which have many little streams that unite in 2 bigger streams which later unite to the main river. So new mountains...maiden mountains...made of stone. I guess that explains itself.

I have to say, that I never thought about how „poetic“ this one sounds so thank you for putting my nose on it!
I hope you understand more with the info I gave you now.

Thanks again for your feedback!
Ian

Oh I almost forgot.
You remember „song between the years“ by Dumbra? She wrote that almost at the same position. She stood on the bridge over the river I stood below watching that water 😉😅
