2020 #3 Children of the Heavenly Father

What will others say when they talk about me today?
Awkward to fit in still I know I belong to Him
Like I child I have fears
But I know He is near

Chorus
Children of the Heavenly Father
No need to bother
Daddy’s here
Children of the Heavenly Father
When we’re weak He is stronger
Daddy’s here

He helps when nights are long; filling me with songs
He helps me through the day; when I don’t know what to pray
Still a child after all these years
I need Him to wipe away my tears

ch

Bridge
Abba, Abba Father
He is all, all we need

ch

Is this a BIAB track, James?
The upbeat tempo, drums and guitar don't feel like a good match here to me. The lyric has a delicacy to it that the music seems to ignore.

My fav part of this is the bridge, including the "oohs" leading into it. And I think partly that's because the accompaniment pulls back at that point.

You might experiment with paring back individual tracks and see what difference that makes. Maybe bring them in incrementally?

I do like children/father theme, and obviously a strong link to the title.

It feels like a younger audience would relate well to this, including some of the anxiety/tentativeness about religion vs relationships.

Thanks, Owen!

Is this a BIAB track, James?

Yes. The cool thing is I can change the whole feel in a couple of clicks, and it still sounds great.

I agree. I was thinking like you it may be for a younger audience (in theme and music) that would like the heavier gtrs, but I switched the instruments to a more acoustic sound and I think it works better.

Feedback?

Yes, that is better. The heavy guitar was definitely getting in the way. Though I did like the piano in the last version. Is there an option to mix and match?
