The third Sunday in Jan. —the 19th this year— is World Religion Day. In its honor I wrote this lyric. CMA
If We Could Just Agree

Verse 1:
They say our way is the only path
They say you must believe what we say
They say if you don’t you’ll feel the wrath
But I say I must find the truth my own way
Verse 2:
They claim to be right and others wrong
They claim you must adhere to our word
They claim if you don’t you don’t belong
But I claim it must make sense or it’s absurd
Chorus:
So the faiths of the world fight to capture souls
And this war has been raging since times of old
But we must look at the source of all faiths
And see His love and find His grace
So our hearts could be appeased
And find a way to agree
If we could just agree
Verse 3:
Can’t they see that we are all the same
Can’t they see that deceit must decease
Can’t they see there’s no one for to blame
It’s so simple —all we want is love and peace
Chorus:
But the faiths of the world fight to capture souls
And this war has been raging since times of old
But we must look at the source of all faiths
And see His love and find His grace
So our hearts could be appeased
And find a way to agree
If we could just agree

Examine what the Prophets proclaim
And understand how They’re all the same
How can a Being, perfect in all respects
Differ from Another who has no defects

Yea, SW Joe, protest rock may work, though it’s highly religious in nature. My protest is that all religions are from one Source. It seems so obvious to me. Thanks for your input.
