Song Title: Where Did This Love Go?

1.
I see you, I'm holding you
And you're holding me so close
Nothing in between, my rose
Just two hearts stuck in love's glue
Holding nothing back or out
High on love's portion and proud

Chorus:

Where did this love go?
It was with a label that says "forever"
Where did this love go?
I need it back here right now

Where did this love go?
It was with a label that says "forever"
Where did this love go?
I need it back here right now

2.
Where is when I was your sun
The moon, the stars and the streams?
When I was more than your dreams
All I bring was fresh great fun
Lifting your joy to the skies?
When I was sure such love never dies?

Chorus:

Where did this love go?
It was with a label that says "forever"
Where did this love go?
I need it back here right now

Where did this love go?
It was with a label that says "forever"
Where did this love go?
I need it back here right now

Coda:

Where did it go....?
Where did it go...?
Where did it go..... Oh... Oh... Oh...
I need it back here right now....

Edited.

I really like this Jo.

Feels tight, and just right in the R&B style.

Fav line:
Just two hearts stuck in love's glue

RainyDayMan, thanks a lot. I felt it's power immediately I finished it. Its super right and tight for R&B.
Is R&B your genre of music?

I don't write much in that style, but I enjoy listening to it :)

Hi Jo. This is very nice. I write mostly country, but oddly enough, I sing mostly R&B and Blues. This sings nicely. This reads like it sings classic R& B...and could even be done as a split verse M/F duet with the chorus in harmony. Possibly repeating the chorus after verse 2 and using what you have as a bridge as an outro... wow classic R&B gold!

I like this Jo. It simple and expresses strong emotions. I’m curious about your bridge at the end. Codas usually end songs whereas bridges join stanzas. You may consider repeating your chorus after verse 2 and calling your bridge a coda. But overall very good!

Bunnythesinger and Cmaja thanks a lot for your good comments. Not including the chorus after the second verse was an error. I omitted it when typing. My error. Thanks for pointing it out. I will edit it now.
Pls PM me if any of you would like to do something with the lyrics.:thumbsup:thumbsup
