This title came to mind when I was reading about another musician’s song. I wrote it pretty quickly after being dry for a couple of days. CMA

Suitcase Full Of Tears
___________Verse/Chorus

Verse 1:
She’s waiting at the door for her taxi ride
Like she’s done so many times before
She’s running out of places where she can hide
Escaping from love affairs has been a chore

Verse 2:
She checks her cell to see if there’re messages
Grabs her stuff and heads on out the door
She needs to realize the mess she is
But checking on herself’s what she ignores

Chorus:
How many tears will she wipe away
How many men will be a mistake
How many times will she just disappear
With her backpack and a suitcase full of tears

Verse 3:
She’s hoping to find a man to start anew
Like she’s done so many times before
She see possibilities becoming few
Gray hair and facial lines can’t be ignored

Chorus:
How many tears will she wipe away
How many men will be a mistake
How many times will she just disappear
With her backpack and a suitcase full of tears

Bridge:
Why do men seem to have that same old curse
Or is that curse something within you
Why do problems seem to be getting worse
Is self reflection something overdue

Chorus:
How many tears will she wipe away
How many men will be a mistake
How many times will she just disappear
With her backpack and a suitcase full of tears

Post Chorus:
Her backpack and a suitcase full of tears
Don’t disappear with a...
Backpack and a suitcase full of tears

Good feel to it Charles.
I like your hook/title in particular.

Verse 1 opens nicely, those first three lines really paint a picture.
Line 4 feels a bit off to me. "chore" seems like the wrong emotional tone given the previous lines.

In v2 I think it's too soon to return to:
Like she done so many times before
I think that works really well in v3 after the chorus and a bit of a break.

Chorus feels strong.

I like the irony in that opening line of v3, as if yet another man will fix the problem.
And you've already set that up with:
But looking at herself is the one thing she ignores
Nicely done.

Thanks RD Man. “Chore” is the correct emotional tone —meaning unpleasant but necessary task.

“Like she’s done so many times before,” is where it belongs at the right time. It expresses her nervousness, doubtfulness and anticipation.

I’m pleased you like the remainder.

Charles

I rechecked your suggestions and agree with the verse 2 change. See above. I altered a few other lines too. Thanks,

Charles
