I don’t get to see your smile
When you walk in through the door
Now a million heartaches later
I’m still expecting more

I know time will never change me
Cause it hasn’t changed me yet
So why’s my mind want to make sure
I keep living with regret

Let me love you from afar
Since I can’t get close to you
You’re out of sight but in my heart
Let me love you from afar

If you wonder where I’ve been
I’m trying to make sense of this
For every dream I’ve had of us
There’s been at least another wish

Now my every waking hour
Reminds me what it’s like to lose
There’s a scar inside my heart
Let me love you from afar

Let me love you from afar
Since I can’t get close to you
You’re out of sight but in my heart
Let me love you from afar

What’s a soul without its mate
What’s forever without fate
Why’m I left here to wait, hell sits just outside the gate
Every second your away

Let me love you from afar
Let me love you from afar
You’re my sunshine and the stars
Let me love you, let me love you
Let.. me..love you, from..... afar

MP, I really like this. Good old sad Country Song. Unrequited love is always a great country theme and Inthink youve done it well. For me, one of the benchmarks of a good song, is can I hear it as I read it... I can hear this. Nice job. The few places that I might have had questions about, could have easily resolved themselves with music, so they arent really issues..

I think it works. First 2 verses tell the world... Third address the object of the affection...Last verse ponder the meaning of it all. Great chorus with a good hook. The only suggestion I would even consider making is in the If you wonder verse at line three For every dream I've had ...FOR... us. I like the for instead of of. It isnt necessarry but I like it a little better...but it really is minutia.

Simple, sad and sincere. Should sing out nicely.

This line doesn't flow as easy for me, "So why’s my mind want to make sure".

And I am not sure the hook lines fits as well here:
"Now my every waking hour
Reminds me what it’s like to lose
There’s a scar inside my heart
Let me love you from afar" - as I love you from afar? Since I can only love you from afar?

Thanks for the suggestion Andrea. I will definitely use the one. The first line you mention was a lead up to the next maybe need to change that one as well. Thanks

I think this one is really going somewhere. Well done. Just watch the rhyming. Kudos

You know, if you're interested, I've thought of a good melody for this.

Thanks Joe. Would love to hear your idea, I don’t play or sing so any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

No rush Joe. Lost the hearing in my left ear about a month ago after a sinus infection. Getting really annoying.
