A little something I started back during the 30 in 30 that I let sit for a bit...it decided it was time.

As usual, comments, corrections and suggestions are encouraged and appreciated. Thanks,

Bunny

Home Wrecker

Verse 1
He ain't come in from boy's night out
His car ain't in the drive
And I thought to myself, man, this is getting old
When his boss called from work today

I told him old lover boy's in bed with a...

Chorus 1
Cold...

I will, that's right!

Chorus 2
Cold ...
Hearted...
Home Wrecker
He's gotten all the chips he's gonna get
He's with a ho-ome wrecker
And I know how to fix it you can bet
Yes I will, that's right
I will, that's right!

Bridge
And I know
It takes two
I blame him
But there's you ...yes there's yoooooou

Verse 3
When he comes home he'll find his clothes
Outside on the lawn.
Yard sale sign says everything will be sold

He didn't need'em when he was with his...

Chorus 3
Cold ...
Hearted...
Home Wrecker
He's proving that his cheatin' ain't done yet
He's with a ho-ome wrecker
And I can show him how bad it can get
Yes I will, that's right
I will, that's right!

Outro
He's proving that his cheatin' ain't done yet
He's with a ho-ome wrecker
And I can show him how bad it can get
Yes I will, that's right
I will, that's right!

Okay Bunny, you corrected line 3 of the first verse. Now its ready for the music. Good verse to verse rhyming in the third line. Great transition from verse to chorus. ‘Ho-ome’ is a nice twist. I really like this!

Charles

Thanks Charles. I had a little fun with it. I actually started with the verse to chorus transition ... wrote the first verse and it stayed there since October... woke up the other night was rereading notes and found the last two verses in the cobwebs of my mind.

Glad you liked it. Bunny

That chorus is a doozy! I can almost hear it playing in my head.

Nice one Bunny!

Thanks RDM, as I told Charles, I nearly tossed this one into the bin. I started it during the 30/30 ...watching tv... some lady said her hubbys in bed with a cold...and I thought oughta be able to do something with it. Had the first verse and chorus for awhile... then elves came into my head i guess. Glad you like it.

Bunny

Great attitude! I loved the play on words here:
I told him old lover boy's in bed with a...

Chorus 1
Cold...
I would have been great if the other verses could have done this too, but that would be really hard.

I would like to hear this one with some strong music.

I tried and tried to repeat that twist on words each verse. I finally relented when I realized that the twist might not play as fun on the repeats and to just go with the cold...hearted...home wrecker. Yeah I couldnt agree more.. this needs a Miranda Lambert /. Gretchen Wilson type voice with attitude and a really stong melody that can support those ... breaks....I can hear it...but I havent sat down with the guitar yet...but I know what I want it to sound like. Thanks, Bunny

I sure did love the twist on words, but can't imagine making it happen for all the verses. I might consider changing the word "cold" to something else. Give up the play on words for the first verse :(

John, I believe that may be the first time I noticed your real name. Anyway, very cool transition into the chorus. For me I hear V1 being a bit slower and picking up as you go into the chorus then continuing that throughout the rest of the song. Nice write!
