Life is a journey

We're sent on a journey, to put things right
things we need to learn, before going back to the light
all misunderstandings we need to correct
the things we thought right need to be checked

we start the new journey as baby's anew
no information, we have not a clue
a new learning curve, on a blank page
we pick up the knowledge, as we gradually age

we question all around us, as children do
learning the colours of life as we pass through
its all strange, think we've been here before
try to remember, but can't be too sure

on the journey of life do our best to learn
secrets forgotten on our previous turn
try to put right mistakes from before
think we got it right but can never be sure

at the end of the learning, we go back to the light
hoping lessons we learned, have put everything right
we won't know the outcome of the joys and the pain
until we look through the eyes of a newborn again

Alan, very nice inagery here. The chronology works, birth to death, and the learning to set things right...almost an eastern philosophy pepective.
Nice write.

I like the how the circular lyric matches the content.

My favorite line was:
learning the colours of life as we pass through
