Inspired by one of my favorite poems, The Lake At Innisfree by W. B. Yeats. But I wrote it to be put to music.

There’s A Place
_____________________AAA
There’s a place to reside, I see
Far from tears this world requires
Where the sun glows golden shining on the mirrored seas
And the dawning dew sparks sunlight through the tasseled trees
There the midnight moon enlightens silvered skies
And I see a placid peace right before my eyes

There’s a place, like home, can it be
Far from sin this world desires
Where the eagle caws are echoed in the heart of me
And noontime dove coos entice my soul by degrees
There the evening sunshine highlights surf and shore
And I see a universe surging from my core

There’s a place that’ll set me free
Far from despair that transpires
Where each fern and blade of grass flash signs of flittered glee
And point the path I must make through the templed trees
There an open rise portrays a dell with streams
And I see epiphanies soaring from my dreams

I really like this Charles.

It does have a poetic style, but it also has a gentle rhythm that should fit to music.

This is a beautiful line:
There the midnight moon enlightens silvered skies

but my favorites are the opening couplets of each verse.

SW Joe and RD Man,
I wrote this last year after reviewing some of my beloved poems and I just wanted to do a simple 3 or 4 stanza poem that could easily put to music. I reflected back on experiences I had when I taught on an Indian Reservation in Montana. I did my last rewrite a couple of months ago. Glad you like it.

Charles
