The story of my years has been a honky tonk trail of tears
Pages filled with nameless faces and demons I have feared
Knowing looks from willing ladies all seemed to go with the flow
But if truth be known goodby is as easy as hello
Love and bedrooms get confused in the world of fantasy
A warm willing woman was always there to tend to my needs
Tomorrow never seemed to fill the memories I left behind
Yesterday soon was lost in the echoes in my mind
Days gone by can't be relived no matter how I try
The book of life has passed me by like clouds in the sky
But now that it's said and done and I contemplate the years
The sad fact is my story's been a honky tonk trail of tears

Sounding good. There's a lot I like about the lines and prosody with the music.
I wonder if you had a bridge that clarified a bit.....maybe it would be a twist, or maybe clarifying what you intend....on first thought it sounds like the singer is crying the trail of tears, but really the trail of tears is made by the women he leaves behind, not his own tears. I think getting that in there would add a layer of depth to the song.
