Decided I would start this challenge with a little tongue in cheek blues tune. Musically should be standard fare...harmonica and guitar riffs...I wont be doing the harmonica work... I always start harmonica work ok and it always ends up playing Oh Susanna...lol..thank goodnees i know a guy. Bunny

The Queen of Social Media

Verse 1
She tweeted out a selfie
With the hashtag "thisislove"
Posted it on Instagram
Filtered with wings of a dove
Her Facebook page is loaded
With friends ten thousand deep
She tosses out with left swipes
Those lucky rights she keeps

Chorus:
An internet sensation
Her own YouTube Channel
She's got an entry on Wikipedia
Pictures on Pinterest
Trending on Twitter
She's the queen of Social Media
She's the queen
She's the queen
She's the queen of Social Media

Verse 2
She manages her profile
In the palm of her hand
Her status changes hourly
So hard to understand
She's always in an Uber
Way too busy to drive
You only have to check her Snapchat
To know that she's alive

Chorus

Verse 3
She broke up over text message
Cause her boy 'replied to all'
She cleaned him off her calendar
And then posted to her wall
'Be careful how you post
Be mindful what you send
You'll likely be unfollowed
And end up an unfriend.'

She's the queen
She's the queen
She's the queen of Social Media
Chorus

Hey Bunny, you must be reading my mind. I’ve been working on a lyric called Twitter Heart, but a different theme —along the line of the dangers of seeking for love online. I’ll post it probably tomorrow.

Anyway, great fun, jazzy lyric! Love to hear the music.

Charles

I like it a lot Bunny. You have a big talent with words.
Over the last couple months, you've become one of my favorite lyricists around here.
Would love to eventually here some of your writings accompanied with some music.

@Charles...thanks...read yours today ...like it a lot. Sadly, way too true, way too often. So glad that one worked out. So many don't.

@ Sam...Thanks for the nice words. I have been working with the studio software and its a huge learning curve. I used to record a lot, however getting live stuff recorded is a horse of a different color. I bought out a guys equipment recently, interfaces, reverb/effects units, a 24 channel mixing board, compressors, mics and I am just now really understanding how to try and get a decent recording off of all of this. I basically took a 20 year break from the music business until this year and everything has changed...I am working on getting a decent recording that i am not too embarrassed to post....all that said...i am really glad you liked the song...

Nice. Pretty funny, actually. I love this bit:

"She's always in an Uber
Way too busy to drive"

Wow. Good one.

Ouch! Be careful it bites!

Love those opening lines:
She tweeted out a selfie
With the hashtag "thisislove"

and I suspect some believe that!

If there's room musically you might try:
A YouTube Channel > Her own YouTube Channel

and possibly
Trends on Twitter > Trending on Twitter
(though that might be just a personal preference)

Tis a good one!
