The music is almost done on this one... think slow Texas Swing, in vein of Faded Love...or maybe soft bluegrass ballad.

Thanks Charles for all your work on this. Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

Bluer Moon (Than I Have Ever Seen)

Verse 1:
Alone and heartbroken, walking by the sea
My footprints disappearing in the tide
I find your face in every cloud I see
And I'm watching them fade into the sky

Chorus:
Once in a blue moon
You're gonna find yourself a love
Like you think you'll never find again
But tonight, I’m bluer
Than that old blue moon above
And it’s a bluer moon than I’ve ever seen

Verse 2:
The turning tide has neatly cleaned the slate
The castle of our love's returned to sand
My heart is saying that it’s not too late
But my head is saying let it stand

Chorus:
Once in a blue moon
You're gonna find yourself a love
Like you think you'll never find again
But tonight, I’m bluer
Than that old blue moon above
And it’s a bluer moon than I’ve ever seen
A bluer moon than I’ve ever seen

(Instrumental verse)

Chorus:
Once in a blue moon
You're gonna find yourself a love
Like you think you'll never find again
But tonight, I’m bluer
Than that old blue moon above
And it’s a bluer moon than I’ve ever seen
A bluer moon than I’ve ever seen

Verse 3:
The wind and waves are dancing on the shore
And tell me love is like the tide and sea
Though clouds will haunt my heart forevermore
Love’ll find a way to return to me

Coda: (half chorus)
Though tonight, I’m bluer
Than that old blue moon above
And it’s a bluer moon than I’ve ever seen
That old blue moon leads the way to love

Nice one guys. I might cut out one of the blue moon references in the chorus out, but once to music it may work.

Thanks MP, because of that Texas Swing/Soft Bluegrass style, the repeated last line of the chorus works well with the music. Glad you enjoyed it.

Nice! I can imagine it working well in that style!

"disappearing" felt a syllable long in line 2, but I can't think of a better alternative, as you use "fade" in line 4 and that would be the only other obvious one.
But in any case, that's a pretty small niggle!

Thanks RDM, The Texas Swing Bands like Asleep at the Wheel have always been on my playlists...songs like Faded Love or Till ATear Becomes A Rose, I'll never skip over. I just wanted to write a song that could be played in that style. Charles' help on this one was right on spot...its actually one of my personal favorites... Glad you liked it

A nice ballad. Kind of sad and beautiful at the same time. I like it very much.

Thanks Andrea. I debuted it at my weekly songwriters/ players pull last night to very good reviews. Was very happy with the results. Thanks,

Bunny
