Does anyone have experience doing a cover version of song in a different language than it was written in?

I’ve never done it, but if you’re going to English and if I can get a rough translation, I could do it. Do you have the music for it? With and without the lyrics?

Hi Charles, is Spanish your other language (or one your others)?

I can read Spanish somewhat, but I’d just do an online translation. Then use that translation to work the lyric to meet the music.

It's trying to keep the rhyme scheme makes it hard.

Here's one I did that's hopefully recognizable.

Okay, I got it translated. Give me a few days to make it a usable lyric and I’ll send it to your private message page.

Before you go to that trouble I should clarify, the above lyrics are a translation from English. The song is "Man of Constant Sorrow."

Yea, that’s what I thought. And when I looked it up, it was the same. Now what do you really need translated and turned to a usable lyric?

I don't currently have any song translation projects. I just haven't ever really encountered other people who do it and was hoping to compare notes on the process and possibly learn how to capitalize on completed Spanish versions of English songs (or vice versa).
