Do Your Part
Verse/Chorus
Verse 1:
Make a start, do your part
Put your shoulder to the wheel
Keep eyes focused upon the goal
You’ve done the gig, you have the zeal
Learn from others and know your role

Chorus:
Ya gotta do your part no matter what
Don’t give pause to ifs, ands, or buts
Ya gotta do your part and not lose sight
Of those who toil with all their might
Don’t give up, don’t lose heart
Ya gotta grease the skids and do your part

Verse 2:
Reinvent your intent
Roll up your sleeves, do your best
Stir up teamwork to get it done
Do the hard work with all your zest
Feel the rhythm and have some fun

Chorus: (as above)
Ya gotta do your part no matter what
Don’t give pause to ifs, ands, or buts
Ya gotta do your part and not lose sight
Of those who toil with all their might
Don’t give up, don’t lose heart
Ya gotta grease the skids and do your part

Bridge:
Work is God’s special gift that gives your heart repair
If you treat work with respect, it’s as if you knelt in prayer

Verse 3:
Lift that bale, never fail
Don’t let your task gather dust
Create new ways to do the chore
You can talk ‘em through if you must
When the job’s complete look for more

Chorus: (as above)
Ya gotta do your part no matter what
Don’t give pause to ifs, ands, or buts
Ya gotta do your part and not lose sight
Of those who toil with all their might
Don’t give up, don’t lose heart
Ya gotta grease the skids and do your part

Coda:
Even if you’re the only one
You’ll feel great when the job is done

What do you think about a bridge to drive a central reason as to "why?" all this hardwork and follow through are important? Maybe tie it in to the Coda, referencing back to the intrisic reasons for hard work as opposed to the monitary or extrensive motivations most people assign to hard work?

Yea BRD, a bridge sounds like a great idea. I’ll check that out.

I can imagine this done in a rap styling too. Not the usual message or content for a rap song I grant you, but that would make it stand out!

Yea BRD,
I added a bridge as you suggested. Check it out.

Hey RD Man,
Yea, a country rap would be different.
