Critiques, improvements, etc are very welcome. Please give a read and thanks to those that do!

V1
You have on your nightlife clothes
And you’re looking oh, so pretty.
But you’ve forgotten how to relax
Living in that big old city.
But you’re ready to take it slow.
I can see that look in your eyes.
Let me take you where you can have all the joy that money can’t buy.

C
That’s Heaven in Dixie
It’s a pretty girl and whiskey.
It’s a cold bonfire night
While holding your baby tight.
It’s listening to the birds sing
As the sun comes in the morning.
Baby, come with me
To Heaven in Dixie

V2
You’re willing to take a chance,
But still you’re hesitating.
While you decide, come sit next to me
and watch this sunset fading.
We’ll watch that golden sky
Turn into a purple hue.
Let me show you how a good southern man can love a woman like you.

C
In Heaven in Dixie.
It’s a pretty girl and whiskey.
It’s a cold bonfire night
While holding your baby tight.
It’s listening to the birds sing
When the sun comes up in the morning.
Baby come with me
To Heaven in Dixie.

V3
You slipped off those nightlife clothes
And you’re sipping some homemade wine.
Feel your body melt into me,
Underneath these Dixieland pines.
Those desires in your heart,
That’s me whispering in your ear.
The songbirds waking us in the morning are the next things that we’ll hear.

C
In Heaven in Dixie.
It’s a pretty girl and whiskey.
It’s a cold bonfire night
While holding your baby tight.
It’s listening to the birds sing
When the sun comes up in the morning.
Baby come with me
To Heaven in Dixie.

Hey BRD,
I like this! It’s very well done with excellent structure. I found myself singing it immediately. One small problem: whiskey and wine cost money; so you may want to rethink that. Everything else come out clean. Great lyric!

BRD, strong write! It has some newer elements in it but doesn’t have the constant rhymes which are found in today’s country. I can imagine a few very slight changes for v3 but since I can’t hear how you intend it, it may be fine. Overall, strong solid work!

Thanks for the feedback, guys. And verse 3 is definitely the one that has given me the most trouble. Verse 1 and 2 came pretty easily for me, but getting verse 3 to work with the tune I have has caused me some consternation.

Wow, that's really good. Would love to hear this as a complete song.

Country songs tell stories about the simplicity of small town life and being rich in love and memories, not money. You demonstrated this perfectly!

This is my kind of song, It is great in it's simplicity. I really enjoyed the hook and caught myself singing it in my head. Great write
