Title: No One Like You

Verse 1

I can search this whole world
All rooms in heaven too
There’ll be no one young or old
That will be just like You:
You are God Almighty
That rules with humility

Chorus:

There is no one like You
There is no one like You
There is no one like You
The lamb who sits on heaven’s throne
The lamb who sits on heaven’s throne

Verse 2

When down and all alone
When friends have deserted me so
You remain the only one
When troubles won’t let go
You get me out of the pit
Stand me back on my feet

Verse 3

You began the beginning
Made all things from the dark
Gave life to all that’s living
Made man head of the park
No one was at the start
You alone, the first and last

Very nice! Feels powerful, but personal too.

For your chorus, you could re-arrange along the lines of:
There is no one like You
There is no one like You
The lamb who sits on heaven’s throne
There is no one like You

but I don't know whether you already have music in mind and whether that would fit or not.

RainyDayMan,
thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it.
Your suggestion for the chorus is well taken also. I have been uncomfortable with having the first line of the chorus come three times. I've been contemplating making it two before now. Now I know I should.
I have a melody already and its still good with your suggestion. Thanks :thumbsup:thumbsup:Thumbs

I'm not a songwriter or a singer just a lyricist.
So I pray to get a collabo here to give life to these verses and chorus.
When that happens you will hear it.:)

Very nicely written Jo. I agree with RDM, It sounds very personal.

Bunny, thanks. Yeah, it's personal, and it can be personalized by the listener. That's how I intended it to be.

This is very strong and to the point. Good job! You may want to repeat the chorus after verse 2 and/or 3.

cmaja: I just notice your signature statement. I feel the same way. In fact, Ive written about 40 gospel lyrics to popular and country music hit songs. It's a project that I hope to make into a book

Jo ash: For this particular lyric, I think it's fine. Hard to tell a lot without hearing the melody. One didn't come to my mind while reading it.

That chorus came out beautifully!
It's a lot more melodic than I had anticipated.
Glad I got to hear it!

Hi, Jo ash... Listening to the song now, I noticed you took RD Man’s advice on restructuring the chorus and mine on repeating it after verses 2 and 3. Came out nicely. Good vocals and piano. The verses and chorus sound pretty much alike though. But that’s okay when it comes to gospel. I prefer a musical difference between verse and chorus so as to alert the listener to the theme of the song. But that’s just me.

Hello Cmaja,

I did. I can't discard advice from seasoned men like you and RDM. It made sense and had to heed it.
Thanks for the advice and good comment on the song.

Great Job Jo Ash, I see absolutely no flaws in those lyrics. I also think you did a great job rhyming the last verse.

Nathan JB,

Thanks for your comment... I appreciate it a lot.
I have other lyrics, good ones too, what I lack is an artist, band, performer(s).
Just saying I'm praying for a breakthrough.

Same here. I am working on releasing an EP by next month, with the hope to build a Musical band out of it. Charles is also open to collab and share his lyrics, I think The next global band might come from this very forum.
