I am hoping to get Youth for Christ, a local org. to use this song for a kickoff dinner to promote a facillity that they have purchaced to help kids with problems like this. The song is talking to the parents not the kids. Michael W Smith is doing the music for it and we are going to see if he wants to do it.

The mix is not very good but I was wondering about the content and things like that.. I must improve this song so I do need helpful ideas..

Thanks

Intro
I got a little bag of CRACK
No don't worry
Everybody's doing it
Don't worry about your MOM or your DAD
They'll be FINE!!!!!

V1
Every time she cry's
She's thinking about her son
On the edge of disaster
Somewhere on the run

V2
Every time she tries
He pushes her away
His reckless living
Could take his life today

CH
So she throws her hands toward heaven
Leaning back and crying out
Her knees are bruised from falling
Just one more time she's callin'
She's clinging to Jesus....... . In her words and in her tears
She's clinging to Jesus...... Through the pain of all these years

v3
She calls him on the phone
But it just rings and rings
Where could her boy be
She fights the worrying

CH
So she throws her hands toward heaven
Leaning back and crying out
Her knees are bruised from falling
Just one more time she's callin'
She's clinging to Jesus....... In her words and in her tears
She's clinging to Jesus...... Through the pain of all these years

Br (spoken)
Every year thousands of our kids Die at the hands of alcohol and drugs
Lets make a stand today to fight hard to keep our kids safe and clean
Lets cry out to Jesus now!!!

Lets throw our hands toward heaven
Leaning back and crying out
Let Our knees get bruised from falling
Cause We'll never stop callin'
We're clinging to Jesus....... In our words and in our tears
We're clinging to Jesus..... Though we may have pain throughout the years..

Outro
Clinging to Jesus
Clinging to you Lord
We're down on our hands and knees before you
We're down on our hands and knees before you
Keep our children safe oh God
Keep our children safe oh Lord

Tom, I can't think of anything more worth-while to write about today, than supporting our youth.  You certainly have my prayers in this.
This style of writing is a little out of my normal "course of flow" , My creek runs a bit different than yours.  But I have been through this parental experience numerous times.  Parents tend to imagine the very worst, as far as  their kids are concerned.  Don't know if this will help, but I can share with you the simple lesson God taught me concerning this.
You can try everything With-in your power, or persuasion, set rules, bring discipline, or whatever you choose.  Those instruments of teaching should be used, but when a kid reaches the age of 18yrs, they're suddenly out of our legal reach.
Children Obey/Honour your parents, and your days shall be long upon the Earth.  This was referred to as the first Commandment with promise. We as parents must first gain and retain our children's repect and honor. Raising a child successfully is a fine mix of love, education and  discipline.
The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 13: . . . Now remaineth these. . . Faith, Hope, and Charity-Love, but the greatest of these is Charity-Love. . . .Love never faileth.  So you see, nothing else is guaranteed to work, except for Love.  It's a hard lesson to learn for parents as well as their children, and that's the point I'm trying to make.  Trust God, Love your children, even when you feel like hating them.  Love is the only thing guanteed to work.  So do we love them enough to give our time, and our dollars, and other resources, such as this Youth Center, to ensure they are equipped to deal with the wiles of the world/ satan?  Sounds simple enough, but it's a tuff lesson to learn.

Hope my input helps in some small way. :D  "God's Love in action, through our actions.  That's Faith! "  . . .The substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. . .Hebrews 11: 1  :D

Boy! I thought I was listening to Jim Morrison for a second.  Great atmosphere, an honest gospel song.
