keep these words in your heart
no matter where you roam
The doors always open
when you want to come home
sometimes you think the grass is greener
and when you find out that its not
you're all confused feel you've been used
you're left not happy with your lot
desperate and lonely thinking if only
laying flat out on the floor
do you go on the attack or take a step back
as you remember the ever open door
lay there in dread hearing words that I said
spinning over and over in your mind
now is the chance to rekindle romance
if thats what your heart wants you to find
people think I'm mad others think I'm sad
I don't lock the doors on my home
if you return in the night, turn off the light
come to bed, you won't be alone
keep these words in your heart
no matter where you roam
The doors always open
when you want to come home

You have a sweet lyric here, Alan. Nice inner rhyme on the first and third lines of the verses. May I suggest adding a chorus in the middle.
I can hear the music as l’m reading it. Good work!

This is interesting. I love the title and the concept "Ever Open Door". It has some nice feeling to it.
I think a chorus and/or a bridge would make it even better.
