One Zip Code
Verse/Chorus
Verse 1:
Lost a gal in Kansas City
‘Cause my driftin’ hasn’t slowed
Headin’ down to Macon, Georgia
This heart’s in a travelin’ mode
Hope to see my sweet Magnolia, I’m
Changin’ lovers and zip codes

Chorus 1:
Find a love in one zip code
Get my pickup off the road
Park my heart in one abode
Find a love in one zip code

Verse 2:
Through the years this heart’s been wand’rin’
Leavin’ pieces on the road
Searchin’ for a love to hold me
Like some trucker with a load
Hope one plan is placed before me, to
Keep my love in one zip code

Chorus 2:
Keep my love in one zip code
Get my pickup off the road
Park my heart in one abode
Keep my love in one zip code

Verse 3:
It’s a long stretch to El Paso
Heart is lonely like the road
Rose Amelia’s waitin’ for me
Settle down in one abode
Hope she’s placed a plan to hold me, to
Keep my love in one zip code

Chorus 2: (as above)
Keep my love in one zip code
Get my pickup off the road
Park my heart in one abode
Keep my love in one zip code

Verse 4:
Though I’ve wanted to meander
That desire’s finally slowed
Rose Amelia has my heart now
And it’s dropped its heavy load
Hope we never are apart now, we
Keep our love in one zip code

Chorus 2: (as above)
Keep my love in one zip code
Get my pickup off the road
Parked my heart in one abode
Keep my love in one zip code

Post Chorus:
Parked my heart in one abode
Keep my love in one zip code
Keep my love in one zip code

I wonder how this would go if it you changed it to "finding love in each zip code"? Different kind of song perhaps.

I like the verses more than the chorus. Something about that doesn't feel as strong to me. It might be the pickup reference, although I can see this is also a travelling song.

“Finding love in each zip code,” sounds like a whole new lyric. It’s easy to move to a new zip code with a pickup or a large SUV. Pickup fits the lyric.
