This my new song that describes the joy of finding my calling. Hope you enjoy it.

I found it, oh yes indeed
I found it, brought to my knees
Music-making, call it home
Gotta play and to roam

I found it, my treasure trove
I found it, a golden grove
Notes float lightly on a breeze
Strung like dandelion seeds

I found it, a turn of phrase
I found it, a fire blaze
Winds of song in my sails
Gliding with ocean gales

I’ve got it, my lucky charm
I’ve got it, my prize is won
A leather drum bangs boom boom boom
Shout it out and give it room

Walking in the twilight
With the misty moon above
Fairies whisper as they dance
To tunes of love

Golden tint of starlight
Tells me heaven’s near
I put pen to paper
Angel wings appear

Strings held closely to me
Plucking melodies
Sweet grass burning brightly
A symphony for me

I found the road
To my very core
Channel of sound
Light language galore

I found it, streams of gold
I found it, truth be told
Tickling the skies above
With all the best of my love

Nice imagery and major chords match the positive message.

Suggestions

This verse could be 1st as the setup to the journey/discovery:

I found the road
To my very core
Channel of sound
Light language galore

This verse could be last as the last line is the summary of the song and worth repeating as the tag line:

I found it, oh yes indeed
I found it, brought to my knees
Music-making, call it home
Gotta play and to roam

Thanks for sharing.

James

Very upbeat and joyful! Good fit between lyrics and music.

I particularly liked these lines:
Notes float lightly on a breeze
Strung like dandelion seeds

It's a beautiful song Paulina.
Lovely lyrics and you sing it with joyful sentiment.
Nice guitar work also.

Thank you all for your comments. It helps since I don't know what I'm doing and am relying on pure instinct. :)

Well, you definitely have a natural instinct when it comes to songwriting.
That is evident. Your music is very catchy.

What a fun song. I like it :)

The lyrics are inspirational - They make me want to sit down and write something.

Thanks!

Again, thank you for your comments. I'd like my music to be fun, catchy and inspirational. Do you all have desired objectives when it comes to songwriting or do you just go with whatever comes through?

For myself, it's the latter. Just trying to write quality songs, share them with those who are interested and enjoy the process.

I almost always come up with the music first.
Try to get a theme from the music, and then a vocal melody.
Last thing I do is lyrics.
