Way back Easter Sunday, that day long ago
God sent his dear Son, to the cross he would go
Fulfillment of scripture, the greatest event
God raised Christ to life in this mission he sent

From foundations of time, God had planned all of this
To give Men a hope and to fill hearts with bliss
The keys, from the devil our Lord took away
Is anything greater? To you this I say
Providing us freedom, great spiritual thing
Oh, death, hell, and grave tell me where is your sting?

The angel had rolled back the stone to the grave
For Jesus is risen, your soul he can save
His body is gone now and still to this day
For God resurrected and took it away

He showed his disciples the wounds in his side
and wounds in his hands, doubting Thomas did cry
"My Lord and my master, I truly believe"
As I touch now the places they pierced on the tree

So then, Easter Sunday, he ascended on high
To go back to heaven, where we'll never die!
By trusting salvation in God's only Son
For this was the time that it all had begun.

The true resurrection and spiritual life
He's coming in Glory, the rapture is right
Ahead of us waiting, when all can be saved
The age of grace ending, he'll take us away

:)

Thanks Marty! After Good Friday, I was hoping for an Easter, and you came through. The message shines beautifully. God Bless

I particularly like this line:
Oh, death, hell, and grave tell me where is your sting?

Has a poetic feel to it. :)

Tells the story very well. I generally don't like Yoda-speak, but in the context of a biblical tale, it works.
So contradictory am I. Not easy to write factual stories in lyrical form, at least not for me, so great work.
