Hello,
I'm a singer/guitarist who performs at Strawberry Fields, Central Park, New York (John Lennon territory) and I've had some interesting experiences recently that inspired me to write these lyrics to a future song. I'd love any feedback. Thank you!

Martian landed
From outer space
Hat pulled down
Can’t see my face
Strange to see me in this place
Am I part of the human race?

Greyish gills
Webbed hands and feet
Can I still strum
And move to a beat?

What is that?
Who is she?
Is she a Yoko wannabe?
Can’t make sense
Of this mystery
Never seen a China girl
Speak English before
Or sing a song?
World’s gone wrong!

Who am I
An anomaly?
Hardly, I mean really!

Born in Cali, near the sea
I have grown
To be wild and free
Simple as the fruited trees
Flannel patches
On my knees

Martian landed
Full of light
Fallen from distant star
In the night
Can she belt a tune
And stand a fight?
As the people come and go
Heart shoots out
Streams of gold
A story to be told
Call it “forever bold”
Living dreams of old

Great lyrics Paulina. I can definitely hear the Beatles influence on this.
Especially Lennon. Very strange, but beautiful at the same time.
Looking forward to hearing this as a finished song.
Favorite part is:

Greyish gills
Webbed hands and feet
Can I still strum
And move to a beat?

That’s great.

Thank you Sam! I usually like to have a melody first, but sometimes the words come and I can't stop them. We'll see what happens to this. This is all a lot of fun because I get to talk about real life. I will be sure to leave feedback for others.

Got a surreal feeling to it. Very intriguing.

My fav part was:
I have grown
To be wild and free
Simple as the fruited trees
Flannel patches
On my knees

I would love to hear it finished! :)

I like the personal nature of the lyrics. It sang to me as I read it. Can't wait to hear it completed.

Thank you for your thoughts. I'll be working on the melody soon.

I really like this. I totally agree with The Beatlesque comparison. Smart, colorful, looks like its gonna sing easy.
