Demo by Nigel Cuff.
Note the last line of chorus has been corrected since Demo produced.
Your thoughts appreciated.
Written by Kel Abbott & Anirban Jee
Your papa thinks you're homely, and lead a very quiet life
In Sunday school they taught you, how to live your life in the light.
Whenever you wanna let your hair down
You race your car to the wilder part of town.
And when you feel your mind is breaking down
Out of the door and into the dark you prowl
Hell bent on finding heaven
In two strong arms tonight
Searching for a lover who'll
Hold you tight just right
Hell bent on finding heaven
There is no where to run,
Got to feed your thirst and hunger
Your journey has just begun.
Your mama tried to warn you, she knew it would come down to the wire,
She tried to keep you covered, stop you being burned by the fire.
Tonight you're deaf to all she had to say
Blind to anything that gets in your way
And so you move in closer to your prey
Out of the light and into the dark you stray...
Hell bent on finding heaven
In two strong arms tonight
Searching for a lover who'll
Hold you tight just right
Hell bent on finding heaven
There is no where to run,
Got to feed your thirst and hunger
Your journey has just begun.

Very good groove... I think it is one line too long in each verse- it may be more powerful to leave verse one with "And when you feel your mind is breaking down..."

It's really good. I love the title, hell bent on finding heaven. Great lyrics built around it.
Killer guitar sound. Great hooks throughout. The chorus is very catchy, I kind of have it stuck in my head. lol. It's an excellent overall production.
I didn't even know you had a soundcloud page. Are you in a band or do you do everything in the studio yourself?
Anyways, great track man. One you should be proud of.
Hopefully you post more of your stuff here.

Hi guys (& gals),
Thanks for taking the time to listen.
This one started out as a country song, a guy meets a seemingly sweet girl in a roadhouse on the wrong side of the tracks... Anyhow I was doing a songwriting course at the time and one of the other guys asked if he could have a go at the music. I said sure, he came up with this bluesy rock kinda thing. The performance of the demo artist in this is fabulous. Nigel Cuff is his name. He is based in UK and does a basic demo like this for around $100 US which in today's market is superb value. He isn't so hot on a Country sound though.
Anyhow, my co-writer, Anirban Jee went on to win Australian Songwriter's Association Songwriter of the Year award last year (2018) so this song is my closest claim to fame I have at the moment. That and the dream I had where George Strait had me in the wings when he performed his latest song at the Grammy's. (My song, of course!)
Anyhow, probably more info than you needed... or wanted LOL
Cheers,
Kel

Not at all. I'm always curious about new members how their songs come about.
You definitely have a gift for lyrics. That's the one thing I struggle with. lol
