Everyone who comes to my house makes me happy
I know you find that hard to believe
but it's really true they really really do
some as they enter but most has they leave

They call around for a chat and a brew
tell me all the gossip that is new
the juicy bits get hot as each one takes a shot
and adds that little extra to the pot

Everyone who comes to my house makes me happy
I know you find that hard to believe
but it's really true they really really do
some as they enter but most has they leave

peoples ears must burn as each one takes their turn
they like to add a little petrol to the flame
they tell gossip like it's true point the blame at you
talk of people when they only heard their name

Everyone who comes to my house makes me happy
I know you find that hard to believe
but it's really true they really really do
some as they enter but most has they leave

I have the happiest house when its quiet as a mouse
and all the talkers have gone and left my door
in the quiet of the night, I try to unravel what is right
I'm in the middle of the riddle that's for sure

Everyone who comes to my house makes me happy
I know you find that hard to believe
but it's really true they really really do
some as they enter but most has they leave

Hi Alan,

I really like your take on this. I've known a few people this relates to, as most of us do.

I think there are a few too many words here and there and losing a few won't hurt anything. As an example:

in the quiet of the night, I try to unravel what is right
>>
in the quiet of the night i unravel what is right

But that is being picky! However the 3rd line of the chorus is weak: but it's really true they really really do
and it's the really really that does it. I'm a bit of an adverb nazi at the best of times, and having 3 really's in one line grates on my nerves (I almost said really myself!).

I understand you want emphasis here because it's leading to the hook however I think something else will work much betterer.

but it's the Lord's own honest truth... is an example for you.

Keep or sweep, mate, great job.

Cheers,
Kel

I liked the title right away.

This verse scores for me: Can't stand when people talk about others just to talk - not knowing what is real or false.
"peoples ears must burn as each one takes their turn
they like to add a little petrol to the flame
they tell gossip like it's true point the blame at you
talk of people when they only heard their name"

Laughed out loud at when I read "some as they enter but most has they leave". Perfect!
