Nice to see ya
it's been a while
didn't realise
I'd missed your smile

where did time go
it goes so fast
blink of an eye
and years have passed

you haven't changed
you're still the same
the girl I lost
in the dating game

Nice to see ya
it's been a while
didn't realise
I'd missed your smile

where have you been
hope life's not been too bad
hope you realised
all the dreams you had

I like the simple style of this, has a charm to it.

If it was me, I'd use the "nice to see you" and "where did time go" parts as verses, then introduce a chorus with longer lines and a different structure for variety.
Add another round of 2 x verses plus chorus, then maybe end back on the "nice to see you" verse to bookend the song.

I really like this.
A great example of using very few words to say a lot.
This gives the listener their due respect.
Just enough puzzle pieces to figure it out.

Did this come to you pretty much as written or
did you edit way down from a larger text?
