I like the "free as a bird" theme. And "soaring" works very well with feelings of joy. You might be able to use the bird / eagle motif more in the song to reinforce that. So perhaps a "spiritual walk" becomes a "spiritual flight"? Although you would need to change the associated rhyme to make that work.
Most of the verses have a universal feeling that anyone can connect with. The fourth verse, with: And keep on believing
I shall find a wife!
is specifically about yourself, which goes the other way.
I think the more people can project themselves into the song the more they will enjoy it.
Overall this is uplifting and hopeful. Very positive.

Marty, another strong one! I like the change you made from what Owen mentioned. It is a bit long but sometimes I believe a song has to be long to get its point across. As long as it's not American Pie, I think you're ok.
