Dogmax, what's the purpose of that last post?
It doesn't seem to be on topic?

Alan Parker is such a great director. His body of work is astounding. Pink Floyd: The Wall, Mississippi Burning, Angel Heart, The Commitments, and Midnight Express are some of the best movies I've ever seen.

Hey Dogmax! Pancho and Lefty is a great song with a great story written by Townes Van Zandt. I recorded that song for my Dad.
The song tells the story of a Mexican bandit named Pancho and a more enigmatic American character, named Lefty. The song tells of Pancho's death and implies that he was betrayed by his associate Lefty who was paid off by the Mexican federales.
Glad you enjoyed it.

My New Year's resolution to learn is coming soon. In the meantime- I'll just post lyrics :)

You could sing? We all have that instrument. Of couse mine is a bit rough, well okay, VERY rough, but it usually gets the idea across.

While we may not have the skills/gifts/wish to perform, we can still use our voice to get melody and rhythm ideas known.

Now, to put my money where my mouth is, so to speak...

Cheers,
Kel

That's a good one. Thanks, Sam.

Here's another one. The whole album is dynamite.
The album is titled: Dylan Different - Ben Sidran

BEN SIDRAN - EVERYTHING IS BROKEN - album Dylan Different

- Sketch

PS -- Listen for the dialog at the end. Even the song is broken. lol

Another great early album from Ben Sidran

Don't Let Go - Ben Sidran
Here's one for Valetine's Day.

She's Funny That Way (I Got A Woman, Crazy)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WF6CPH1xvo&list=OLAK5uy_n_eCUjVgx-qtXJpwM_4_xA34OJHMKpMd4

- Sketch

PS --- Vocalists like Ben Sidran have lowered the bar enough
for me to think I have a prayer to compete. lol

Ben sounds a lot like his predecessor Mose Allison.
I much prefer Ben, but like both of them.

The Shimmy by The Sluggs (1996)

This is a song from my first band. It was written by Millie Harris, Matt Thompson, and myself.
We were teenagers when we recorded this.

Enjoyed that! Bit hard to hear the vocals, but not vital in this instance I think, as it's all about the music. :)

Hey Kel, I do love, love, love to sing. Wish I had that beautiful gold record voice, but I still get joy from singing. I have been working myself up to try this. Thanks for the push :)
