NOTHING TO LOSE BUT MY HEART

I see that love is a game of chance.
What are the odds of a true romance?
I've seen it happen with all my friends;
One love would start as another ends.
Though we are friends, I want so much more.
I want the love I've been longing for.
Should I take a chance, let you see how I feel?
I have Nothing To Lose But My Heart

I realize I've been waiting to see --
 a sign in your eyes that you might care for me.
I may be hurt, but for better or worse,
I have Nothing To Lose But My Heart.

(Spanish guitar instrumental)

Am I feeling something that isn't there --
Fooling myself that you really care?
I toss and turn as I think of you;
Sleepless once more over what to do.
If love's just a game, then I'll choose to play;
Show all my cards, that's the only way.
So, win or lose, I must know that I tried.
I have Nothing To Lose But My Heart

I realize I've been waiting to see
A sign in your eyes that you might care for me.
I may be hurt, but for better or worse,
I have Nothing To Lose But My Heart
I have Nothing To Lose But My Heart

Very smooth sound! And "Nothing to lose but my heart" is a great line and title.

You don't hear this kind of song much these days - or at least I don't!

Loved the Spanish guitar! I was hoping for a little more variation in the percussion ( in the "I realize..." parts) but it still sits nicely in the mix.

Quality sound.

PATRICK! You are posting your songs in the wrong section! Just below the lyrics lounge where words only are posted, is the music database. Please put your songs there! That is where songs with music that can be heard are meant to be placed. Thanks :Really Ticked:

Ooops, sorry 'bout that. Marty, I shall put it over there.

Thanks for the heads up, seems I'm not paying attention.

Believe it or not, the entire instrumental track is "Band In A Box". So, it's just demo quality, not a viable production, though I've fooled quite a few people with it. Yeah, I would want more in the percussion, for sure, when I get to the final arrangement.

Very nice. Great vocalist too. I'd love working with her

Great sound and delivery.

Production-wise, one nit pick it having reverb that much on the vocals and not on the instruments gives a bit artificial feel....maybe play around with that aspect.

I became a big fan of BIAB with the 2019 ultra and waiting to upgrade to 2020 during their sales this month.

Lyrically, it keeps a nice focus on the main idea.

One nitpick would be this line:

Show all my cards, IF that's the only way.

Adding the word "if" makes showing all the cards as a last resort. Otherwise, it comes across as the only way she knows how to show interest/ play is to always show all her cards...which may be why she is not in a relationship....still works as is though.

Thanks for sharing.

James

Thanks, James, for the appreciation.

Dianne Lincoln, the lyricist, I doubt she'll change it, but thanks.

I'm way behind on BIAB, I have the 2012 version.

Hey Patrick. This is thoroughly good from start to end! I love the calypso rhythm! Tracy sings it with such emotion... I love it!!

To be accurate, it's not Calypso its "latin jazz" blended with an American melody

Thanks for the feedback it is appreciated
