I think I've found the address to hell
There's a jukebox even laughter
And sad stories to tell
Our souls are long gone
From the heartache we've felt
I think I've found the address to hell

Just off of Main St., sits a smoky old place
Where memories of past loves, always congregate
The sign on the outside, says all welcome, please come in
And that's where this story begins

Each man is a member, as long as he's paid the fee
Of sorrow and misery, along with some grief
We drink to our demise, each night of the week
Who knew hell, had a doorway, just off Main St.

I think I've found the address to hell
There's a jukebox even laughter
And sad stories to tell
Our souls are long gone
From the heartache we've felt
I think I've found the address to hell

I walked in with, intentions, of leaving
Thought maybe, I'd just have a few....
But the jukebox plays hits, and we're all masochists
When it comes to, the bottle, and the truth

Our stories, like a mirror, all reflect
The same ending, with just different names
We hide in the shame, of who's really to blame
And our demons, are all one in the same

I think I've found the address to hell
There's a jukebox even laughter
And sad stories to tell
Our souls are long gone
And our bodies just a shell
I think I've found the address to hell

In every town on Main st.
Are memberships paid with grief....
I think I've found the address to hell......

Dear Seamus! That is one place that I have no desire to know or reside in forever! I hope you get far off of that road, my friend!

Wow, that is killer. I really like your style of lyrics. I can relate to a lot of what you write.

Wow. This one is a real winner. Very nice.

Lots of great imagery and a great hook for the title.
AND.......... it really pays off in the lyrics.
"Hell to pay.", as the saying goes.

Glad to hear you got out of there.
God's grace is a "Get out of hell" free card.

Definitely a good one. :)
Maybe start on the verse rather than the chorus?

I wasn't sure thought I'd try something different. Thanks for the input, RDM!

The first verse intrigued me right away. I wanted to know the story, and WOW. Awesome.

It starts out good, then your rhyming doesn't work; it just falls apart - doesn't sing well. I do like the idea. Very original

Couple changes I’ve made wondering which you all might prefer.

Just off of Main St., sits a smoky old place
Where memories of past loves, always congregate
The sign on the outside, says all welcome, please come in
And that's where this story begins...

Each man is a member, as long as he's paid the fee
Of sorrow and misery, along with some grief
We drink to our demise, each night of the week
Who knew hell, had a doorway, just off Main St.

I think I've found the address to hell
There's a jukebox even laughter
And sad stories to tell
Our souls are long gone
From the heartache we've felt
I think I've found the address to hell

I walked in with intentions, of leaving
Thought maybe, I'd have, one or two
But the jukebox plays hits, and we're all masochists
When it comes to, the bottle, and the truth

I think I've found the address to hell
One swig from the bottle
And I fell under its spell
The devil, he has me, and it’s too late for help
I think I found the address to hell

Our stories, keep reflecting an image
The same ending, with just different names
We’re not sure who’s to blame, still we hide in the shame
And our demons are one in the same

I think I've found the address to hell
There's a jukebox even laughter
And sad stories to tell
Our souls are long gone
And our bodies just a shell
I think I've found the address to hell

In every town on Main st.
Are memberships paid with grief....
I think I've found the address to hell......

I'll vote for v2. In addition to starting on the verse, I like what you've done with the "Our stories..." section (bridge?)

Thank you, Owen! Thought this one deserved a second look. It can probably still use some tidying up but I think 2 wins out as well.
