I contacted a Dublin music publisher (I live in Ireland) who was interested in hearing my songs so I sent them links to Souncloud and this is the answer I got:
Hi Martin, Thanks for sending us your songs. They are excellent. However nowadays it is almost impossible to get a song covered unless you work directly with either the artist or producer or both. Regarding Nashville even if you write with a local writer the chances of getting a cover are slim. I’m afraid there is nothing we can do to help you but best of luck with your career.
What chance have we got when people in "the biz" that can potentially earn millions from one of our songs and think they are "excellent", can't do anything with them?
Is Taxi.com the only alternative we have?

While a response like that can feel like a real bummer, they did say only, "there is nothing we can do to help you..." they didn't say you or your music is beyond help. It's a matter of finding the right fit is all (says he!)

I tried Taxi and that did not work for me. They did give my $300 dollars back,however, when I explained things to them that were not working. They give the option of a refund!
