HER SAVING GRACE

We always say there's a new road to be taken
To many consultations we say we've been mistaken
We walk until we crawl then stumble to our feet
Desperate for the breath of wisdom hanging in defeat

Written in my soul, tears across my face
Losing all control, until her saving grace
Saving grace

Followed many shadows, misheard many lessons
Listened to the voice of a thousand heard confessions
Stood before the judges whose power I had granted
Failed before their eyes as my stores I recanted

Written in my soul, tears across my face
Losing all control, until her saving grace
Saving grace

Will I forgive you?
Will  you forgive me too?
Will it all be the same
to travel down that unmarked path again

We always say there's a new road to be taken
The pass of many nights and mornings to awaken
Saving grace

I particularly liked this verse:
Followed many shadows, misheard many lessons
Listened to the voice of a thousand heard confessions
Stood before the judges whose power I had granted
Failed before their eyes as my stories I recanted

there's some nice lines in there!

Musically, I was expecting something slower and in a minor key. The lyrics are quite sad, and the bright upbeat music doesn't feel like the best fit to me.

I'm not following how "her saving grace" fits in here. There's no reference to a "her" to anchor it. But it does sing well.
