Welcome aboard.

My best advice, if you are asking for it, is to be aware of
the difference between poetry and lyrical poetry.

You are writing a song. You need to think and communicate
in the elements that as song uses. Verse and chorus and bridge.

If you are not familiar, look at how other songwriters are writing.

Welcome aboard Scotty! That's where I started as well. I've got a couple hundred on another site and slowly transitioned into songs. Best of luck.
