To continue with the Gospel theme...
(been waiting for the right time to finish/release this one)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Title: Turn It Over (to God)
Track Time: 00:00 / BPM: 00
VS 1
All that stuff you're hangin' onto
- You gotta turn it over
When your life is out of control
- You gotta turn it over
White knuckles on - the steering wheel
- You gotta turn it over
CH
You gotta - turn - it - over -
Turn it over to God
I say -
You gotta turn it over -
Turn it over to God
Well -
VS 2
If the bills are piling up
- You gotta turn it over
When your car is just a wreck
- You gotta turn it over
Loved ones are hurt or sick
- You gotta turn it over
CHORUS
BRIDGE (breakdown with hand claps)
We always want to fix it ourselves -
and be independent
Like prayer is our last resort -
you know we'll defend it
Seek ye first the kingdom -
He knows all our sorrow
Our needs will be provided -
so don't worry 'bout tomorrow
Well -
CHORUS
VS 3/ending  (slower tempo and soulful)
When you - don't know what to - say - (last word stretched out)
- You gotta turn it over
You just can't - find your - way - (last word stretched out)
- You gotta turn it over
Need hope for - today - (last word stretched out)
- You gotta turn it over
Well -
CHORUS (lively - return to full tempo)
Yet another theme taken from my life.
I have a folded "tent" card in front of my computer keyboard that simply reads:
"Turn it over to God."
It serves as a constant reminder to not try to do things in my own power.
But rather to tap into the greatest power in the universe.
And I do a funny thing when I get the help I asked for or whenever I see God's hand in something.
I lean over and talk to the card or give it a knowing look. lol
The way you've written this out makes me think it will be a call/response type song, with a chorus of people singing the "- You gotta turn it over" part. Is that what you had in mind?
I like this idea.
Thanks for the review/response, guys.
To answer your question, RDM...
Yes, you are hearing this correctly. Call and answer style.
Current thoughts are to compose the accompaniment like a gospel song.
But instrumentally it will sound like an up-tempo blues. Guitar driven.
As my songs usually do, it will take on a life of its own once I start laying down tracks.
I'll try several things and push the best to the front. Should be fun.
This will need some backing harmony vocals. (as noted)
That will be a challenge. Everyone knows I can't sing. LOL
