No reference to the Morrissey lyric .

(V1)

It doesn't matter who you are
Or where in life you're at
There is no discrimination
Everyone is open to attack

(V2)

It comes and goes with no warning
No lights to stop or go
On a road that has no end
Or signs to take it slow

CHORUS

There's a light that never goes out
It guides you safe
So long as it's burning
There's a light that never goes out
It guides you safe
So long as it's burning

(V3)

I've seen it happen
To other people's life's
A stop i'd rather pass
But in life nothings certain

CHORUS

There's a light that never goes out
It guides you safe
So long as it's burning
There's a light that never goes out
It guides you safe
So long as it's burning

BRIDGE

It's no act of weakness
And is without doubt
A disease when triggered
leads much to the imagination

CHORUS

There's a light that never goes out
It guides you safe
So long as it's burning
There's a light that never goes out
It guides you safe
So long as it's burning

There's a light that never goes out
It guides you safe
So long as it's burning
There's a light that never goes out
It guides you safe
So long as it's burning

I love your title:
There's a light that never goes out
Sounds like something John Lennon could have written.

I don't truly understand what the light is, nor what the disease is that's mentioned, but that doesn't trouble me one bit. A bit of mystery is just fine.

I'd love to hear this one set to music.I think it has great potential.

Ah, thanks for the explanation. But I'm not forgiving the pun ;)

I don't mind a bit of mystery, either. I think I sorted out the phrases that were unfamiliar to me, we are speaking the same Queen's English, after all. Any syntax issues can probably be attributed to the ocean between us.

Minor nits to pick.

1. V1 and V2 both have end rhymes, but V3 doesn't. Since there are no rhymes in the chorus or the bridge, I was starving for one by V3, to nail down the structure if nothing else.

2. Unless you mean 'life is', it should be peoples' lives. I know, you can't hear apostrophes on the radio, but I gotta call 'em as I see 'em.
