What is in the beginning
Is also at the end
So I reach out for Jesus
Lord please take my hand

I ask for His mercy
Yet time and again
I'm stuck between Amen
And just being a man

I'm stuck in the middle
Between a and men
My soul feels so lonely
As my heart repents

This burden I carry
Like my heart on my sleeve
I search for My Savior
But He's just out of reach

Amen for my Father
Amen to His Son
I'm just a man
Who can't overcome

This division inside me
Caused by my sin
Please guide me toward amen
And away from being a man

I'm stuck in the middle
Between a and men
My soul feels so lonely
As my heart repents

This burden I carry
Like my heart on my sleeve
I search for My Savior
But He's just out of reach

Here I set broken
Just a shell of a man
I'm a vessel of vices
That's fallen again

I'm only halfway to maybe
Saving my soul
The 4 letters to get there
All hang on hope

I guess I'm stuck here on this earth
Until I'm reborn again
Stuck in the middle
Between a and men

I love you Lord Jesus
Please forgive of my sin
Of being stuck in the middle
And still being a man

"Between a and men" feels like the heart of this, and it's a good line. You could make it flow a little more easily using "between the a and the men" but I think it would lose a little something doing that.

The rest felt a bit weaker to me - although I'm no expert on Gospel songs, so hopefully others will review as well. Other than a sense of "my weakness" I didn't get a strong impression from the rest of the lyric, and with the main emotion being weakness it left me feeling a little flat. Maybe a bit more focus on the potential for redemption?

Fair enough, Thanks for the review. Wasn't sure how it worked and wanted to make sure that it worked at all. I may revisit when I get some time.
