Hi everyone....it's been ages since I've picked up the pen. I managed to get Mr. Neil Connor to do the music for my little Halloween lyric. Neil starts off the 1st verse with a vocal, and then I had a go with it....fun stuff! Neil even let me do some screaming!!
All thoughts welcome; and, of course, first impressions are greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone for listening!
Happy Halloween!!!

v
Call me superstitious
But there’s a full moon on the rise
It’s got me a bit suspicious
A word of caution to the wise
There ain’t no silver bullet
And God don’t hear my sorry cries

v
Call me superstitious
Listen up now that’s not all
It got me a bit suspicious
when my mirror took a fall
What’s not spelled out in the tea leaves
Is written on the wall

b
She walked in like an angel
up to the bar at 3 AM
But what laid in bed beside me
When I woke up was looking grim

v
She had spiders in her garden
A broom of straw stood by the bed
I asked if she smelled Sulphur
That’s when her eyes turned ruby red
yeah, there’s a doll of me she’s pinning
I’m the poster boy for the walking dead

v
So, call me superstitious
But the midnight hour’s close at hand
Paranoid or just suspicious?
A little of both, I do contend
But that telephone keeps ringing
With no one on the other end.

Ah that was good fun! Had me tapping my toes :)

You made me snort with laughter at:
But what laid in bed beside me
When I woke up was looking grim

Good stuff. Nice to see you back Tom!

Hey Tom, did you happen to post this on a site called songstuff? Just making sure somebody isn't stealing your work.

Randy

LOL I see.

Good tune by the way. Nice scream. Crazy how it blends in with the harmonica. My first impression is that the vocals aren't quite sitting right in this. I know there's some effects on them but the first verse seemed maybe a little too loud?? When you vocals came in, they sounded good but still slightly out of place with the tune. If I was the more technical type, I'd be able to tell you why or offer a suggestion. Overall though, I dig it.

Have a great Halloween!

Excellent title, hook, writing. Strong imagery.

At first it put me in mind of Stevie Wonder's Superstition (not just the title, the bit about the mirror [he called it a 'looking glass']), but---apologies to SW, whose writing I adore (melodies more than certain lyrics he gets away with murder with)---this is IMO more interesting and mysterious. Superstition is a great song, too---don't get me wrong. This cuts a bit deeper for me...
