Any criticism is welcome. I'm aware that it's not the best recording.

I like the overall sound you've got going here. Nice guitar work!
I am having trouble hearing the lyrics though - would you mind posting them here? If you do, I'll comment on those later

As a couple of suggestions:
- I think Barefoot Blues is a stronger title than No Shoes Blues
- I'm not sure your intro is adding a lot to the song. Or at least I'm not seeing the connection to the rest as it seems quite different.

However, this is your song and suggestions are just that - for you to consider and adopt/reject as you see fit!

Yeah, the intro doesn't have anything to do with the rest of it. I do it b/c it's a change in style and whatnot. Lyrics are below

Don't tell me it's not okay, man
Nothing wrong with it certainly
Get rid of your shoes and socks now
Walk barefoot, walk in harmony

Feel the grass between your toes
And on the bottoms of your soles
I know, it feels good don't it baby
Let's find a way to make it last forever

Come on over
See for yourself
Feel that connection
To the planet, to our Earth

Don't tell me it's not okay, man
Nothing wrong with it certainly
Find comfort with every sharp stone
Feel grounded eternally

Running to each other
Soles toughened by pain
Subtle reminders
Of everywhere that you've been

Thanks for posting the lyrics! I like them too. A nice conversational style.

I think the last verse is my favourite.
I like the sole/soul inference
and these lines
Subtle reminders
Of everywhere that you've been

nice work!

This is really good Man! I like it. I like fingerpickin' guitar and the music is good. Is this your first entry? I look forward to hearing more from you!

Thanks a lot, man. Yes this is the first thing I've posted on here. I've got a few more fairly recent ones.

I like your guitar playing: good, clear and confident tone; nice time feel and control. The little prelude and shift into tempo worked nicely.

I like your voice, too: it melds well with your playing.

With a performance like this it strikes me that lyrics are almost superfluous. It could be a guy sitting on the back porch, making it up as he goes along. No shoes is cool, almost anything could have worked w/the mood your playing (and voice) set up.

Nice work...
