Hi everyone - I'm posting a link to a song from my new record, set to release later this year (pending I receive all of the funds). It's definitely the weirdest song on the record as far as genre goes. It's kind of hard to pin down. I may have created a new genre. Would love to hear what you think.

Here's the link: http://selwaluke.bandcamp.com

Thanks for your support!

I'm terrible with genres. I either like a song or I don't! lol

It sounds to me like mid to late '90s indie pop. Kind of in the The Cranberries and The Sundays vein. Except without the accents.

It's a good song. You (I'm guessing you're the singer?) have a great voice. Very easy to listen to.

What do firefighters and policemen have in common?
They both want to be firefighters. :D

Thanks! Yes, I'm the singer. Appreciate the complement. I think the choruses are more like 90's indie pop for sure. The verses have more of a hip-hop r&b influence. So it's kind of an interesting mix.

Hmmm. There are parts in there that remind me of the Polyphonic Spree. Not sure if you have heard of them but style-wise I think this is similar to some of their slower tunes. They're technically Symphonic Pop Rock though and I don't know if this exact song would fit that. I do agree it has a 90's indie pop for sure so Indie Pop may be a good fit.

As for the song though I think you all did a wonderful job with it. Nicely sung, performed and with good lyrics. :)
