Just curious if anyone has any input as to which of these sights are the best and for what reason..

Reverbnation is best for ME because it's what I know how to use. I started out on Myspace Music but it quit being easy to use, and there was an absolute lack of networking going on.

Reverbnation was easier to use and I got better responses from better musicians.

Aside from that, all I know is what works for me. I don't recommend Myspace Music and I'm not even sure they're still around.

Thanks Verlin I'm using Reverbnation (as you know) and I like how it works, but as I sometimes say, "Peanut Butter is the best if you've never had a steak"
I'm just using the free part... can't see a reason to pay for exposure at this time..

I'm on reverb and soundclick. I figure the more exposure you get, the better. I once got a response from a A&R guy from Atlantic Records telling me that "CUPCAKE IS A HIT!" but it was on some weird website that shut down right after that...And since Atlantic doesn't do a lot of Country, he couldn't (Or just didn't want to) help me any with it.
I know there are others out there...If you're Country, http://www.mycountryspace.com is pretty good. Not as much networking as I'd like, but it's kind of interesting. Look me up if you join it... kennedy9154 is me!
Another one is http://www.ourstage.com where you can win money in a monthly contest (It's still free to join I think).
...and still another in http://www.indiecharts.com or http://www.songramp.com and I'm sure there's a ton that I don't know about.

My song STORY OF MY LIFE won 100.00 once for being the top Country song of the month at http://www.ourstage.com . We ended up getting 100.00 in Amazon credit but hey, it was 100.00! I bought my son's halloween costume that year with it.

Not related to this subject at all...But if you're a smoker...You can also join http://www.marlboro.com and if you are active and participate in their contests and such, like my oldest son did, you might get as lucky as he did. They randomly pick members and give them TOTALLY FREE trips for 2 to Marlboro Ranch in Southern Montana. He and his girlfriend are leaving on March 17th. All expenses paid, plus they give you luggage for the trip, and they're giving them clothing for Montana wintertime, a Stetson hat (which I have dibs on!) and they even pay the taxes that you'd have to pay for winning. I don't smoke anymore myself, but I joined anyway, figuring they owe me a free trip for all the smoking I've done in the past....LOL

Happy to help. We're all in the same boat, way I figure it. Might as well help each other if we can.

Mr Kennedy.. likewise on that part about they should owe me a trip for what we smoked in the past... I quit too, cold turkey on Jan 15, 2000.. targeted Jan 1st, but it took 2 weeks to do it.. congrat's on your quitting..

My parents let me smoke when I was young. Someone showed me how to inhale when I was in 1st grade. That was about 1970, and I smoked until I got divorced in 1995...Quit cold turkey...several times before I got it right. I always tell everyone..."If you can't quit, don't quit quittin'."

I just thought of another place or two you might like.
http://kcmamusicco.com

and,if you don't mind spending a few bucks to pitch your songs, http://www.musicxray.com It's free to join, but costs to pitch to various music professionals.

I've been trying to think of this one for a few days...it's a place that places music in movies and stuff like that....
http://www.nomamusic.com I haven't been there for a long time though. They wouldn't even listen to mine because it was Country, and they said they had may too much of that...But maybe you can get them to listen.

This is a great topic and we have some helpful discussion in these replies.

I hope you all don't mind that I moved it from Member Blogs to TSF Recomendations because I think it is best kept in this forum section.
