"99 Cent for a El Rey Beer" Copyright 2011 Rob Young

When your thirsty for a beer on a saturday night

just two blocks down on the corner on the right

in a twist top can lies a poor man's treat

takes a strong man down and it make him weak

Just a penny short of a dollar here

Just 99 cent for a El Rey beer

(You know I love me some El Ray Beer now)

They'll wrap it in a bag and they give you back your change

behind a counter in a cold steel cage

You guard it with your life as you hide it on your side

as you swing open the door and you jump into your ride

Just a penny short of a dollar here

99 cent for a El Rey beer

All my friends come from far and near

they all gonna help me drink some El Rey Beer

in a twist top can lies a poor man's treat

takes a strong man down and it make him weak

Just a penny short of a dollar here

Just 99 cent for a El Rey beer

All my friends come from far and near

they all gonna help me drink some El Rey Beer

All my friends come from far and near

they all gonna help me drink some El Rey Beer

Too cool, Rob! I really, really like this! It has a really nice beat to it that had me smiling and toe tapping from beginning to end! The music was the perfect fit your lighthearted beer-drinking lyrics.

Really glad to see you and Big John hanging out with us again, Rob! Lately it's felt a little like old times around here...which has also put a big smile on my face. :D

That's awesome.  What a toe tapper.  It has a laid back Blasters feel to it.

What do firefighters and policemen have in common?
They both want to be firefighters. :D

Yes, good song: to the point and funny.

I have a 'drinking song', a blues ballad called 'Holdin' Back Tears'. The only rendition available is on a pay site (http://www.smallslive.com) (If interested, it's from Jan. 27th on the 2nd set).

I have a title I want to turn into a song: 'Cold Guinness and a Warm Lady'...

Nice work, man...
