Oh I've seen some hard times and trials in my life.
And lived through some heartaches and sorrows and strife..
I've travelled though darkness.. where evil resides..
But I'm doing the best that I can.
The best that I can Lord.. the best that I can.

I know I'm not perfect for I'm but a man..
Whos doing the best that he can.
Though I may be tempted to stray from Your way.
I know You're there always for me..
And Your great sacrifice sets my heart and soul free..
It makes me the best I can be.

As long as You're with me.. I know where I stand..
While I'm doing the best that I can.
Oftimes I think my name should have been Job..
That old devil taunted him endlessly.
But The Lord had a plan for Job he didn't know..
And restored him for all to see.
God made Job the best man.. the best he could be..
Yes, God made him the best man.. the best he could be.
God loved dear old Job, who was but a man..
For doing the best that he can.
If we remember the story of God's servant Job.
When hard times and trials come our way
It won't always be easy but we can endure
For The Lord guides us through all our days.
He makes us the best folk.. the best we can be
His love and His mercy.. are all that we need
We may not always know God's perfect plan..

But we must do the best that we can.
